If you’re like most online marketers, you’re interested in maximizing your return when using automated article submission services.

Read on for five methods to maximize your results by using an article submission service.

1. Proper formatting of your articles : Any large text blocks should be broken down into smaller segments. Paragraphs of two or three lines each are usually effective. This way, the fact that your article is an automated submission is not as obvious.

This being said, you also need to be certain that the article submission service that you use can format articles properly. Article directories which are human reviewed (such as EzineArticles) will reject your submission if it is not formatted with paragraphs properly.

2. Articles should contain no more than six keywords : A majority of article submission services won’t place limits on the keyword frequency that you use, but overusing keywords will make it obvious to many directories that your article is an automated submission.

On average, try to utilize between four and six keywords in your articles.

3. Links should not be added to the content of your articles : If the body of your article contains links, certain article directories won’t accept your submission as genuine.

While this is not true for every directory, links within the text of your article are sometimes an indicator of an automated submission. So, prior to actual submission, you should take the time to remove any links that are present in your article’s main text.

4. Use exact categories when submitting your articles : Many people overlook the fact that you can submit articles into the precise categories you want to be found in.

Many article submission services will give you many options regarding the subject that your article is submitted under, such as site promotion or internet marketing, but they usually will not present you the option of subtopics, such as article writing or article marketing.

Because of this, many automated submissions find themselves posted under more general headings, among a pile of other spam articles, improperly filed articles, and other automated submissions. This will not generate promising leads, and will typically only entice people who are seeking free articles.

5. Use an excerpt that is unique : I personally found that presenting the audience with a memorable or interesting article excerpt will generate a much higher CTR, or ‘click through rate’. Don’t just use the first paragraph of your article when you submit it.
